Well, we said goodbye to Thanksgiving 2017 and I’m super excited for the holiday season. Whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, or none of the above, there’s always some fun winter and holiday events that you can partake in around San Ramon. Here are just some of our favorites.
Tree Lighting ceremony on December 1 is happening in San Ramon at Bishop Ranch 1 located at 6111 Bollinger Canyon Rd. on Friday from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This is a great way to kick off the holiday season with a tree lighting ceremony of our 70-foot white fir tree. Enjoy refreshments, activities for the kids, and live music.
Bah Humbug! 5K Fun Run & Walk on Saturday, December 2 at the San Ramon Community Center at 12501 Alcosta Blvd. This is a great way to shed some pounds before you pack on the Christmas goodies. Runners are asked to bring a can of food to be donated to the county food bank and you can register online here at the local parks department.
Holiday Movie Magic Symphonic Band Concert on December 22 in San Ramon at 7:30 PM. This is at the Doherty Valley Performing Arts Center at 10550 Albion Road. This is a great way to get into the holiday spirit and it’s become a Christmas tradition around here with a wintry mix of holiday music from your favorite movie classics. Trust me, you’ll recognize quite a few of these unique tunes.
Other activities going on around the San Ramon area include the annual holiday home tour in Danville, San Ramon Valley, and Walnut Creek. This event is hosted by the American Association of University Women on Friday and Saturday, December 8 & 9 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. You can ring in the holiday season by touring these beautifully decorated homes throughout the San Ramon Valley. There are drawings and light refreshments available.
On December 13 is the Grand Menorah Lighting & Chanukah Celebration. On Wednesday at 5:00 PM at the Contra Costa and Tri-Valley’s Jewish Book and Art festival is the menorah lighting, music, fabulous food and fun for the entire family and admission is absolutely free.
There are lots of things going on in the Tri-Valley area including holiday photos, Christmas tree lighting ceremonies and just about every city, festivals, bazaars and lots of fun for kids. If you’d like to add something to this list please contact me below. I’d love to add your activity to our ongoing list of holiday events happening in 2017.
From our family to yours this holiday season – HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
